Teenager tragically UDs on homeopathic medication

Washington D.C., July 5th, 2010 - A homeopathic underdose probably caused the death of 16-year-old Samantha K*, in the course of a dismal scenario which is currently under investigation by the local authorities.

From the preliminary conclusions of the ongoing analysis, it appears that a few months ago Samantha K was prescripted Decameron, a homeopathic remedy, to alleviate severe headaches and some signs of depression. From this point, "her mood seemed to improve; she was sometimes even radiant", witnessed her mother. However, yesterday she commited the unthinkable: she took not more than one tablet, smashed it, and absorbed a few micrograms of the powder. A few hours later her dead body was found by her parents. For the police, the reason of such a move remains unclear.

"To do this the very day we celebrate our independence is stunning." declared Sgt Powell. "Maybe she expressed the thought that the only freedom she would ever find in this world was through death."

"Ingesting such a powerful homeopathic medication at such low doses is an act deprived of reason." commented Dr Bob Oslek, chief of the Washington Central Clinic. "This nevertheless addresses a clear message to those who are skeptic to the efficiency of homeopathy. How do they call this? A placebo suicide?"

Our consultant Gregory Skyscraper, M.D., expressed a completely different opinion.
"This is crystal-clear." he said. "This isn't a suicide, but rather an indirect murder which comes as the consequence of the homeopathic lobby's irresponsible behaviour. They are hiding to the public that homeopathy can be dangerous, and even fatal. Clearly, this girl became addicted to Decameron. With each consumption she developed a tolerance which led her to take lower and lower doses to reach the high it can provide. At some point the quantity is so infinitesimal that the organism can't support it anymore."

In all cases, this tragic story brings us to the mind that measure in everything is what will enable you to stay alive. The final word will be left to Paracelsus: "All things are poison and nothing is without poison, only the dose permits something not to be poisonous."
